Can you take a make-up case on board a plane as hand luggage?

Before you take your make-up case on board as hand luggage, it is essential to check the baggage regulations of the relevant airline. The permitted dimensions and weight for hand luggage vary from airline to airline. Often, in addition to one piece of hand luggage, a smaller personal bag such as a Beautycase is also permitted, provided it fits under the seat in front of you.

Make sure your make-up case does not exceed the maximum permitted dimensions to avoid additional charges for checked-in luggage. There are strict rules regarding the contents of your make-up case, particularly for liquids and gels. These must be packed in 100 ml containers and carried in a transparent, resealable 1-litre plastic bag. Each passenger is only allowed to carry one such bag. Furthermore, sharp objects such as nail files or scissors should be avoided, as these could be classified as potential weapons at security checks.
